This lot comes from the Kilimbi washing station, located on a small island in Lake Kivu, western Rwanda. We've worked with Kilimbi for seven years—one of our longest-standing partnerships. Around 150 smallholder farmers contribute to the station, which produces just 500 bags a year. The island’s unique microclimate and high elevation create ideal conditions for growing and processing coffee, resulting in clean, elegant cups with refined acidity.

BREWING TIPS

Washed Rwandan coffees are known for their vibrant cup profile. To extract the best flavours, we suggest using an Orea brewer. Start with ratio 1:15 (coffee to water), use fresh filtered water at 94-95°C, and grind coffee just before brewing.
