TASTING NOTESAPRICOT / MANGO / MAPLE SYRUP
In 2011, nearly all of the Chinguel family’s coffee trees were decimated by disease, a devastating event for the farm. However, during this time, they noticed that there was one type of tree which evaded the disease, a variety which they have since named Marshell. Not only is this variety disease resistant, it also has an incredible flavour profile, enhanced even further by the use of a well-executed natural processing style.
The Chinguel family took home the first place prize in Peru’s Cup of Excellence competition in 2019 with a 100% Marshell lot very similar to this one – and when you taste it, we think you’ll understand why! Unique and expressive with incredible complexity, this is one of the highest scoring lots we’ve cupped all year.
