What's changed?

We've now made the switch to recyclable coffee packaging. This change has been made with our B-corp status in mind, ensuring that we are always working to reduce our impact on the planet.
Although compostable packaging can seem like the ultimate solution, the reality is the composting of single-use plastics is still a relatively new process, with many systems still in a development stage.
By switching to recyclable packaging, we can reduce the chances of our packaging ending up in general waste.

What is our packaging made of?

Our packaging is made from EVOH (Ethylene-vinyl alcohol) - PE (Polyethylene), made with 30% recycled post consumer recycled materials.

This means not only are our bags now recyclable, they are also made using previously recycled materials like plastic bottles and paper.

This helps to reduce the amount of waste being directed to landfill, while also lowering the demand for raw materials.

Benefits of recyclable packagaing.

  • Research is showing that components of compostable bags, like the valve and thicker parts, are not able to breakdown in home compost systems. This can create harmful microplastics. In contrast, recycling systems are more advanced and ensure that all elements of the bag are properly processed.

  • Recyclable bags provide a more accessible solution for everyone to be able to consider their personal impact on the planet. With drop off points widely available and home collection not far off, we believe this is a far superior option.
